The project was designed in close collaboration with the Community Centre of Bosilegrad, Community Centre Kyustendil, and Cultural Centre Danilo Kis from Ljubljana. The main scope of this project is to connect citizens of those three municipalities, increase youth participation in community and political life and to expand youth networking, and strengthen opportunities for social and intercultural engagement and volunteering.

With this project, we intend to educate young people from the Pcinja District (which is one of the poorest areas in Serbia) and help them get involved with peers from other regions, share ideas about cultural and social life in the community, improve and modernize their environment through the arts, while approaching basic EU principles and values.

Through educational performances on Euroscepticism, a docudrama presentation about the life of a migrant in another country, through peer education, debates, and workshops after the performances, young people from the three countries will be able to discuss, share experiences and learn from each other. They will also have the opportunity to hear the experiences of migrants who are currently staying at the Reception Center in Bosilegrad, who will along with them participate in the making of a joint mural.

Working together on joint mural painting on a subject of diversity, youth participants, as well as beneficiaries of Bosilegrad’s Refugee Accommodation Centre, will be able to socialize, get to know each other, share knowledge and experiences, transcend borders, develop tolerance, and fight prejudices. The final event (concert with performers of all three countries) will symbolically mark The Day of Europe.

An Internet portal through which young people can concretize their ideas and start initiatives to improve cultural and social life in their communities will be presented by brochures. The expected number of direct beneficiaries is around 300.
